Yesterday, after breakfast, we took a walk around Hoan Kiem Lake. Hoan Kiem Lake is fantastic for three reasons:
- It’s lovely.
- It’s home to a 700-year-old magic turtle.
- There are groups of Vietnamese ladies doing jazzercize.
Jazzercize is in the form of line dances. One of them was the Chicken Dance, known variously as the Duck Dance, or Il Ballo di Qua Qua.
It’s hard not to join in.
The Vietnamese ladies were friendly, and replayed the song for us so we could have a second round. I’m not sure if they did it because we were having fun, or because they thought we were monstrously fat, which they did and was made quite clear through gesture.
So we danced, and then ate some donuts.
I’d say it was a good day.
